Years of experience: I have 19 years of health care experience (mixed experiences in the field of clinical laboratory technology working for Philippine National Red Cross, pharmaceutical sales representative for Azta Medica Germany, nursing working for public hospital in Manila, state-certified RCFE instructor, assisted living director and memory care director).
Background in field or industry: Double degree – Bachelor of Science majoring in medical laboratory technology and nursing. Currently completing master’s degree in health care services administration at Keller Graduate University. And a state-certified RCFE instructor teaching at IPCED (OnCourse Learning) and Community Care Educational Services – two of only 11 vendors in California.
Why do you love what you do: Taking care of elders and helping out those who cannot help themselves has been a living mantra for me. I have taken care of my friends and most especially my parents. It gives me so much joy that no money can bring when I know I have made a change in someone’s life. Elders living with dementia may not say that they’re thankful for what we do, but I can certainly feel that they are so much happier every time we render an unconditional service as a token of ourselves to them.
Fun fact about yourself outside of work: I love traveling, singing, cats and SHOPPING. I spend most of the time dining and shopping. I hit the gym to get physically fit and go to different places to venture into dining and experiencing different levels of shopping experience. My partner, Regan Maraingan, is a registered pharmacist in Manila and visits the U.S. once or twice a year. I don’t have siblings, and I am an only child. I am a Taurean, and I love to sing my heart out to the residents at any given time!
Jasmine Mitchelle - Vibrant Life Director
Joined the WindChime of Marin Team: May 2018
Years of experience: 1 year of experience
Background in field or industry: I graduated from Dominican University of California with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology, where I learned about adult development as well as different kinds of dementia. I also had an internship at a memory care facility that was supervised by my mentor at Dominican and by the volunteer coordinator at the memory care facility. This gave me the tools and experience on how to work with people who suffer from dementia. It was also the reason I wanted to enter the field of senior care.
Why do you love what you do: I love helping people and making them happy. That is what I love most about this job, that every day I get to make people happy and have a fun time together.
Fun fact about yourself outside of work: I absolutely adore art, particularly sculpting. I have worked with pottery for over 10 years. I also love all animals and even have a dog of my own!
