Alan Fox worked in human services for 25 years. He has served elders for over 10 years. Before joining WindChime of Marin in May 2017 he was Executive Director at senior living communities in San Francisco, Redwood City, and Daly City. Prior to his career in senior living, Alan was Chief Operating Officer of a large nonprofit serving people with developmental disabilities. He also served in government, where he administered federal programs serving children with special needs and their families for the City & County of San Francisco. Alan loves working with elders as an expression of deeply-held religious and personal values. He currently serves on the San Francisco State University Gerontology Advisory Council.
Brittany Karlinski, LVN - Generations Program Director
Brittany became a nurse in 2015, before that she was a Certified Nursing Assistant for 3 years. Brittany’s entire career has been in health care and she has been working with seniors for 6 years. She is first-time Program Director having joined WindChime of Marin in July 2017. Brittany is from the Chicago area where she worked in skilled nursing facilities. Brittany truly loves working with elders, “the life stories that have been shared with me are something not many people get to experience.” Brittany enjoys making a difference in their lives and thinks they know they have made in a difference in her life as well.
Valdete Lane - Director of Sales & Marketing
Val is a first-time Sales & Marketing Director. She joined WindChime of Marin in March 2016 as Vibrant Life Director and moved to sales in June 2017. Val has been working in senior living for 4 years. Before she came to WindChime of Marin she worked at Atria Senior Living. Before serving elders, Val had her own successful practice as a Life Coach. She also worked as a program coordinator at the charitable Stupski Foundation. Val feels that she has a mutual affinity for elders. She enjoys applying her skills as a life coach to connect with seniors so they become more engaged with their lives, increase their well-being, and vitality.
José Lima - Culinary Services Director
Chef José has been cooking for 15 years, 10 years of which he has been cooking in senior living communities. He has also worked as a restaurant manager. Before coming to WindChime of Marin five years ago, he worked was Culinary Services Director at Meadows of Napa Valley and Aegis of Corte Madera Assisted Living. He loves cooking for elders and specializes in providing healthy nutrition that they love to eat!
Lorna Lopez - Business Office Director
Lorna is a first-time Business Office Director having joined WindChime of Marin in May 2016. She worked in senior living as a marketer for a home health agency for a year before that. Lorna has experience in banking, media, and food service. She was a TV reporter in the Philippines and was proprietor of a restaurant in Glen Ellen. Lorna enjoys working with elders because it gives her an added sense of fulfillment to have a job that allows her to be compassionate and to make a difference in the lives of others.
Antonio Gonzalez - Building Services Director
Antonio has been working in building services and maintenance for 10 years. He has been working in senior living for 30 years, including 10 years at WindChime of Marin. Before he became a Building Services Director he worked in restaurants as a dishwasher and busboy. Antonio worked in skilled nursing facilities, and also at Drake Terrace (where he met his wife) and Alma Via Assisted Living communities. Antonio likes working with elders because he has learned a great deal from their being different, in a different stage of life, from a different culture, speaking different languages, and having a different purpose in life. He “likes to make them smile and make them feel good about themselves.”
Gary Forer - Director of Sales and Marketing
Gary Forer is the director of Sales and Marketing here at WindChime of Marin, bringing nearly two decades of marketing and sales experience to our community. Throughout his career, he has worked with organizations such as Central Casting and WineFlite and as an independent consultant.
While working with Central Casting as its vice president of Sales and Marketing, he managed both national and international accounts that contributed from $1.5 million to $10 million to revenue over three years.
As founder and sales director at WineFlite, Gary was credited with creating the first online wine shipping company for the international tourist. He also oversaw marketing campaigns while leading a team of 21 international employees.
For the past two years, Gary has worked as an independent consultant to help develop step-by-step processes for acquiring and managing accounts for those in the role of vice president of Sales and sales managers.
Gary is well-versed in what it takes to be a successful director of Sales and Marketing, and we consider ourselves lucky he is on our team!
