SFSU Gerontology Advisory Council elects new leaders

The SF State Gerontology Program receives guidance and support from an external advisory council composed of up to 16 members representing a variety of aging-related agencies, organizations and services across the SF Bay Area. The council advises the program regarding current and future activities; supports the development of financial and other resources; offers guest lectures and internship opportunities for gerontology students; and helps establish positive relationships between the program and appropriate public and private organizations.

The following members were recently elected to leadership positions on the Gerontology Advisory Council:

  • Tom Berry, regional director of operations, Sunrise Senior Living (President)
  • Katherine Raukhman, regional ED specialist, Oakmont Senior Living (Vice President)
  • Elke S. Tekin, CMC, senior living expert, AgeRelationsLLC (Secretary)
  • Alan S. Fox, MPA, executive director, WindChime of Marin (Treasurer)
