Kentfield, CA (02/09/2018) – “Alone we can do little; together, we can do so much.” ~ Helen Keller

Local Girl Scout Troop 10949 from the 4th grade at Bacich Elementary School in Greenbrae were our local heroes for February. They joined our residents on the 9th for a Valentine assembly session to benefit children at the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.

With Scout leader Molly Schaefer, the girls provided all the materials and a big portion of the love, as they joined with our creative residents in making cards and gift bags for kids undergoing medical treatments over the Valentine’s holiday. These girls are shining examples of courage, confidence, and character!

Once completed, the bags were delivered to the hospital by Dena Selix from Love Is the Answer (LITA) in time for Valentine’s Day.

Our ties to the community, especially our intergenerational partnerships with groups like the Girl Scouts and LITA, help our residents to maintain a sense of importance and connection while contributing to a charitable cause. That’s a win-win!
