At WindChime of Marin, every day is filled with laughter, music, and moments of connection—and much of that energy starts with Lisa McCool, the community’s Vibrant Life Director. Lisa brings passion and purpose to her role, guiding a program designed to nourish the whole person through engaging, thoughtful activities. “Vibrant Life is a program of quality-of-life activities that nourish the body, mind, and spirit,” Lisa explains. “It’s how we keep our residents connected, active, and fulfilled.”
The Vibrant Life® program is built around seven core components—Be Well, Be Inspired, Be Family, Be Connected, and others—all designed to create balance and joy. From morning chair yoga to brain fitness exercises and creative journaling, Lisa and her team curate full days of enrichment. “Our mornings are more intellectually engaging when our residents’ minds are most active,” Lisa says. “Then we move into music, games, and physical activities like balloon tennis and bowling.”
Music, in particular, plays a vital role at WindChime of Marin. Lisa describes weekly live performances, drum circles, and personalized playlists through the Tune Into Me program. “Music is so therapeutic,” she says. “If a resident isn’t feeling social, I’ll bring them their personalized playlist. You can see them light up instantly—it’s a beautiful transformation.” WindChime music events are listed on the events calendar.
Lisa is especially proud of the Living the Dream program, which brings residents’ lifelong wishes to life. “One of our residents, a lifelong ballroom dancer, is going to spend an afternoon dancing with a professional instructor,” she says with a smile. “Another resident, a chess enthusiast, played a full day of matches with visiting families. These moments are deeply personal and joyful.”
For Lisa, the most rewarding part of her work isn’t in the planning—it’s in the presence. “This job fills my heart,” she shares. “When I see a resident smile, laugh, or connect through something we’ve created, it reminds me that I’m part of something meaningful. I go home feeling grateful every day.”
