Years of experience: Seven years of health care experience, five spent working as a nurse.
Background in field or industry: LVN license, RCFE certified. I’ve worked in skilled nursing facilities, in hospitals and as a resident care director. Four years of management experience.
Why do you love what you do: As a nurse working with Alzheimer’s residents, my goal is to provide a safe environment while promoting self-worth and dignity for our residents. I want each resident to be able to do as much for him/herself as possible while having a meaningful life. I have chosen the geriatric field of nursing because I love working with seniors and caring for residents with Alzheimer’s disease. They are so interesting and have had so many life experiences.
Fun fact about yourself outside of work: There are nine seasons and 201 episodes of “The Office,” and I have seen every single one seven times.
Generations Program Director
Joined the WindChime of Marin Team: December 2020
Years of experience: I devoted an accumulated 13 strong years in this field. I was given a venture into the health care industry in multiple capacities. First, I worked as a pharmacy technician, which opened my interest in the medical field. Then, I managed assisted living and memory care communities, where I honed my skills in handling people and great customer service.
Why do you love what you do: Filipinos are very family-oriented individuals. My work at WindChime feels like I am giving care to my elderly family members, especially my parents. This is more than enough reason to be where I am at present.
Fun fact about yourself outside of work: I am a Navy veteran. In my leisure time, I play basketball, football, baseball and tennis. I love the outdoors and have a passion for cooking. I also do karaoke and dance in front of our residents. I am a fun person who always puts a smile on people’s faces.
Vibrant Life Director
Joined the WindChime of Marin Team: August 2020
Years of experience: Eight years’ experience working in memory care.
Background in field or industry: B.S. degree in gerontology with specialized interest in geriatric psychology. I have worked in skilled nursing as well as assisted living and memory care.
Why do you love what you do: When I was a teenager, I took on the role of caretaker for my grandmother with dementia. I love to be able to support other families whose loved ones are going through the same condition that my grandmother was going through, but now with more knowledge and expertise. I love being able to honor my grandmother’s memory by enabling my residents to live their best lives.
Fun fact about yourself outside of work: I love to travel. I spent a year traveling in Southeast Asia, where I got my certification as a yoga teacher. I also speak five languages.
Culinary Services Director
Joined the WindChime of Marin Team: October 2012
Years of experience: 22 years of culinary experience
Background in field or industry: Most of my experience is in restaurants and hospitals.
Why do you love what you do: I am honored to have such a strong background in serving the elderly. I love to cook and seeing our residents happy while they enjoy the food I make.
Fun fact about yourself outside of work: I am generally a very happy person. I have three daughters. I like to hike and go camping.
Building Services Director
Years of experience: 30 years of experience.
Background in field or industry: Most of my experience is working for the senior community. I have worked for skill nursing, independent living, assisted living and memory care. I have learned a lot from the senior community personally and professionally.
Why do you love what you do: It is a great satisfaction to contribute to our residents’ well-being, making them feel comfortable and important.
Fun fact about yourself outside of work: I have three children, two of whom are still kids. I like to see them play sports and play games with them on weekends. My favorite pastime is watching sports and music videos. Also, I love to travel to Mexico.
Director of Sales and Marketing
Joined the WindChime of Marin Team: August 2018
Years of experience: 30 years of experience in sales and marketing
Background in field or industry: Three decades of marketing and sales experience in our community. Throughout my career, I have worked with companies as diverse as Central Casting; a fashion jewelry manufacturer, WineFlite: the first online international wine shipping company, and as a business consultant focused on helping companies grow their businesses.
Why do you love what you do: I love meeting new people and helping them as they struggle to understand what it takes to pick the right community for their loved one.
Fun fact about yourself outside of work: I love playing the piano and engaging with our children and the rest of our family.
Business Office Director
Joined the WindChime of Marin Team: October 17, 2018
Years of experience: Eight years as a business office director
Background in field or industry: I have worked in this industry for 10 years – two years as an activity director and eight years as business office director.
Why do you love what you do: With the diversity of work that I do, it always keeps me focused and motivated, and everyone shares the same vision and is committed to the mission on bettering the community.
Fun fact about yourself outside of work: I am a percussionist. Although semi-retired, I still go to gigs once a while. I’m also a first-time grandfather to a grandson whose birthday was the same day I was offered my position here at WindChime of Marin.
